bike-lifters busted, 55 bikes recovered
JODHPUR: In a major breakthrough, the Jodhpur police bust a gang of
bike-lifters and recovered 55 motorcycles from the gang members. As many
as 6 persons of this gang have also been arrested by the police from
different places of the city. This is the biggest recovery of stolen
motorcycles by Jodhpur police this year. According to DCP (west)
Harnedra Kumar, Jodhpur police had constituted a team following repeated
complaints of motorcycle theft across the city. "We stepped up our
vigil at places that were preferred by the bike-lifters. We found
activities of two persons suspicious at the Samrat Ashok Garden," Kumar
told.
Police kept a watch on them and caught them red-handed while stealing
motorcycles from there. "Following their interrogation, we arrested 4
more persons, who used to purchase bikes from them. We also recovered
some motorbikes from them and more from the information given by them."
In total, 55 motorcycles have been recovered, used and sold by this
gang," said Kumar. He added, "We hope to recover more motorcycles from
this gang following intense interrogation."
